“Recently one of my statements in the media has created a lot of discussion. I want to clearly explain the matter to everyone. At this moment, my full focus is only on cricket. At this final stage of my career, I want to give my absolute best for the Bangladesh national team and, if given the opportunity, deliver some great performances for the country,” he wrote.

“Politics is very important for the development of a country. After ending my cricket career, I want to contribute to my country’s development. However, that does not have to be only through politics. It is possible to work for the country outside politics as well. But yes, it may be easier to do those things through politics,” he explained.
This balanced perspective seemed aimed at calming the narrative around his intentions. By separating his cricketing goals from his political views, Shakib attempted to shift attention back to what he does best – performing on the field.
