Sanju Samson laid the foundation for a formidable total against KKR

After being put in to bat, CSK faced an early hiccup when skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad fell for just 7. However, the arrival of Sanju Samson shifted the momentum entirely. Samson played a quintessential anchor-aggressor role, smashing a blistering 48 off 32 balls, decorated with 5 fours and 5 towering sixes. His strike rate of 150.00 forced the KKR bowlers onto the back foot during the crucial middle overs.

Samson found an unlikely but effective partner in young Ayush Mhatre, who played a cameo that will be remembered for its sheer audacity.
