Delhi Capitals (DC) pulled off a thrilling six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 26 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. In a chase that went down to the final over, DC showed nerves of steel, with David Miller delivering a match-winning cameo to take his side over the line with just one ball remaining.

Phil Salt shines as RCB post competitive total

After being put in to bat, RCB posted 175/8 in their 20 overs, powered by an impressive knock from Phil Salt. The opener was in sublime touch, scoring 63 off 38 balls, striking four boundaries and three sixes. He provided a strong platform alongside Virat Kohli, who made a brisk 19.

Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar chipped in with handy contributions, while Tim David added late impetus with a quickfire 26 off 17 balls. However, regular wickets in the middle overs halted RCB’s momentum. Delhi Capitals’ bowlers kept things tight, with Axar Patel leading the charge with figures of 2/18. Kuldeep Yadav and Lungi Ngidi also picked up two wickets each to ensure RCB remained within reach.

KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs anchor DC’s chase under pressure

Chasing 176, Delhi Capitals didn’t have the best of starts as Pathum Nissanka fell early. KL Rahul then took control of the innings, playing a fluent knock of 57 off 34 deliveries. His innings, featuring six fours and two sixes, laid the foundation for the chase.

Tristan Stubbs played a crucial supporting role that turned into a match-defining innings. The right-hander scored a composed 60 off 47 balls, anchoring the innings through the middle phase. Despite a few hiccups with wickets falling at intervals, Stubbs ensured DC stayed in the hunt. Axar Patel also made a valuable contribution of 26 runs, keeping the required rate under control heading into the final overs.
