However, Matthews showcased her class and composure, crafting a superb 100 off 119 deliveries. Her knock, studded with 13 boundaries and a six, blended patience with timely aggression. She built a crucial partnership with the experienced Stafanie Taylor, who contributed a steady 38 off 70 balls to stabilize the innings.
Once the foundation was laid, Chinelle Henry added a valuable 32 off 48 deliveries, while Deandra Dottin provided the finishing touches with a brisk 24 off 29 balls, including a towering six. West Indies reached 218/4 in 46 overs, sealing the match comfortably with four overs to spare.
For Sri Lanka, Malki Madara impressed with two wickets, while Inoka Ranaweera and Athapaththu picked up one each, but they struggled to contain Matthews’ authoritative innings.
Despite the defeat in the third ODI, Sri Lanka Women secured the three-match series 2-1, having won the first ODI by 10 runs and the second by 14 runs. The victory, however, will give West Indies Women valuable momentum and confidence heading into the T20I leg of the tour.
