The stage is perfectly set for a battle of ambition, skill and history. India, playing in their third World Cup final after previous heartbreaks in 2005 and 2017, are determined to make home advantage count. Captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian squad has displayed remarkable resilience throughout the tournament. Key players such as Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma and Jemimah Rodrigues have powered India’s campaign with match-winning performances, while left-arm spinner Shree Charani remains crucial in the bowling department.
On the other hand, South Africa enter the final brimming with confidence after their 125-run demolition of England in the semifinals. Skipper Laura Wolvaardt has led from the front, both as captain and batter, and will look to deliver her side’s first-ever world title. With seasoned campaigners like Marizanne Kapp, Ayabonga Khaka and Chloé Tryon, South Africa bring balance, firepower and belief to the summit clash.
The final is expected to be a high-intensity contest, featuring two of the most consistent teams of the tournament.
Sunidhi Chauhan to dazzle at the Women’s World Cup 2025 final
Adding to the spectacle, the ICC has confirmed that Sunidhi Chauhan, one of India’s most celebrated playback singers, will headline the World Cup final’s entertainment lineup. Her act will be accompanied by 60 professional dancers, a laser and drone show, and fireworks choreographed by Sanjay Shetty, promising a visual extravaganza for fans both at the stadium and worldwide. In addition, Sunidhi will perform India’s national anthem before the match, while Tarynn Bank from Cape Town will sing South Africa’s national anthem, symbolizing unity and sportsmanship on cricket’s grandest stage.

The closing ceremony will feature over 350 performers, complete with cutting-edge lighting, choreography, and live music, transforming the DY Patil Stadium into a festival of color, sound and celebration.
